Game Is Hard Trick Types: The 8 Ways It Tricks You

Three hundred levels look different but recycle a small set of traps. Learn the eight patterns below and you stop playing blind — you start recognizing the trick in the first three seconds.

Literal Wordplay

The words mean exactly what they say — just not the way you assumed. “Tap the apple” may mean the word “apple”, not the fruit.

Hidden & Decoy Buttons

Things that look decorative are tappable, and things that look tappable are decoys. Tap the background, the shadow, the border, the character.

Device & Sensor Tricks

Tilt, shake, flip or rotate the phone, cover the light sensor, or turn up brightness to expose a near-invisible edge.

Sound & Mic Levels

Blow on the microphone, say the answer out loud, or stay completely silent. The phone is listening.

Patience Tricks

Sometimes doing nothing is the answer: wait a few seconds, let a bar fill, or ignore the big tempting button.
